I think I have the same thing, only mine is about 2 weeks before my cycle. I'm constantly thinking of food and looking for something to eat. I've gotten into the bad grazing thing. I can eat 1 cup and a half of pasta and less than 2 hours later I'm doing it again. I need to get back on track with my protein and carb watching. I've been so bad for so long now. I think like you too, I don't eat much during my cycle.

I am out 4.5 yrs and when I get this way before my cycle I up my calcuim, and that helps me. It helps me keep my quantity amounts in normal range. Hope it helps you.

I am so glad to see that I am not the only one. I can always tell when my cycle is going to start. I have mad cravings and I eat larger than normal portions. I have not found a solution to this madness, I will keep reading and hope a solution presents itself. Best wishes

Despite cravings we still have to watch portion control and not do anything that will stretch out our stomachs, even if it is only a few days before our period. That may be enough to get your stomach bigger and able to hold more food later. We still need to eat only what's allowed in the portions we have, maybe an extra protein snack but I wouldn't increase the size of a meal. A whole sandwich takes up a lot of room in a pouch. My doc said, just because that much food fits in, doesn't mean I should eat that much. I've tried to think of that when I have cravings or want more than I should. It's very normal to be hormonal before and crave more food or certain foods. Controlling it before helps and then when you go back to not being able to eat as much you haven't over done it the week before.

That happens to me almost every month! Occasionally it's less pronounced, and I've tried telling myself that I'm just imagining it, because I don't want to make it an excuse to eat...but I am also a bottomless pit about 5 days out, until I start. It's insane! It's truly almost comical. Last week I started tracking my intake again with fitday in an effort to lose these last 10-20 lbs. I was very loyal to that computer and logged in every bite, even when I didn't want to. What a week to start keeping track again! It's pretty entertaining to see what I came up with to eat, in an attempt to keep it healthy. Attempt is the operative word! I guess as long as it doesn't spill over into an excuse to eat all the time, that's what matters. Maybe we can work to make sure the increased quantity isn't all bad stuff - but sometimes the cravings are out of control, I realize. If I had a great solution, I'd offer it - but since this has happened to me since I was a teenager, I don't think it's going to change! Good to know we're not alone. Kathryn

good to know i am not alone on this, i just think it is weird that i can eat so much at one time with no problems then when i am on i can`t, like my stomach enlarges from the hormones then shrinks when i get it back to normal...it is really weird i am due on friday and already i am feeling back to normal i ate like a normal person last week and a few days ago then now that i am really close to my cycle coming on my appetite has disappeared and i can`t hold half as much food..i wonder if there is some kind of medical explanation for this...hmmmmm
