Linda, you've come to the right place.....many of us after 1 year seem to find some of the old demons back in our lives. The first year was easy for me.....now everyday I have to work hard to keep from grazing and making bad choices....some days are great but I have some really bad days too.
You've done the first thing you need to do acknowledge there are situations in your life that need to be corrected. Many people (I read 36% of WLS patients but can't find the data right now) choose alcohol after WLS surgery, essentially giving up one addiction for another. I suggest you seek counseling and/or attend an AA meeting as soon as possible.
How much water are you drinking? Lots of times when I'm thinking about food so much and wanting to eat, I can pinpoint my mistake, not enough liquids so the hunger signal I'm getting is really thirst, not real hunger. Up your water and see if that helps.
Go back to basics, water, protein first, and exercise. Have you read the pouch rules lately, this is another tool I use when I "forget" or I'm not focused, hope this helps you get back on track. http://www.nikkiinmd.com/pouch_rules.htm
I wish you the best.

Hi Lydia, it sounds as if you are going through a real rough time right now. Many of us find that at a year or more out the old habits can come back at us. At the time of surgery & pain we think that it won't happen but it does and it's sometimes worse than before. I suggests that you do speak to your health care provider & look for any support groups in your local area that you can get to easily. I also suggests that you avoid the mental war of "Gee I've failed and now I feel so guilty" merry-go-round we can easily fall into which is very counter productive. Honey - you can make it. This too can pass & you can get back to where you feel you want & need to be. I believe in you because it takes a lot of guts to do what you've done and admit the things you have. So you know you have the ability to do it. I said a prayer for you and I'm pulling for you. Take care.
