Hello everyone, I am just about a year out and have found I do not know how I should eat. I had my basic metabloic needs test done and found I need 1470 cals just tolive. How on earth do I get that in? I was eating very low carb and my nut told me to get 100 grams of carbs and about 55-65 grams of protein . I do not know ho do this. I can get about 1200 cals most and I end up eating ALL day to do it its rediculous. I added in fruit and veggies but I still get about 100-110 grams of protein. I am not sure what I should do. Any suggestions on low fat high calorie foods to eat??? I would APPRECIATE it greatly!!! Thanks! Anadelia

Hi Anadelia! A few questions~are you at goal?? Under goal?? why does your dr want you to up your carbs and calories?? I eat pretty much the same things every day. I can easily get in 1300-1500cal per day~sometimes more, sometimes less depending on the day. I don't count my carbs, but I know I don't get anywhere near 100 gm of carbs per day. I still try to get around 60gm of protein daily. I know once I passed my 1yr mark I was hungry more often and could definitely eat more volume. My sample day would be~ B~oatmeal pancake w/sf syrup S~strawberries w/sf strawberry glaze and cool whip L~small salad w/turkey, cheese, croutons, ranch D~this meal I struggle with. chicken breast, cottage cheese, refried beans w/cheese, chili, etc. S~sometimes a banana w/pbutter or mabye some wheat thins and I eat this snack whenever I'm hungry~could be before dinner time or after. Hope this helps! Tracy B 328/152 5'9"

Low Fat means less calories. You are fighting a losing battle there. If you WANT calories, add the fat. Full fat cheese and 2% or 4% dairy products. Meat. Peanutbutter. Whole Grains. Personally I have no problem putting away 1500-2000 calories. Peanutbutter is the devil - high calories due to high fat. I want the least amount of calories for the most amount of food, so I eat FatFree products. I wish I had a problem not getting enough calories...so I am no help really.....I am a cast iron bottomless pit and I struggle daily for control. But I am sitting on my goal and working out 6 days a week so I can eat. Just thought I'd point out that whole "calories from fat" concept. Ask your "nut" what they recommend for daily fat grams, then adjust your diet from their to increase your calories. Good Luck Michelle
