HAVING HARD TIME W/SNACKING 14 MONTHS OUT!
Hello fello grads, I am 14 months out and have lost a total of 154 lbs, but now my struggle is staying away from junk food and I find myself snacking too often. I am so afraid of gaining my weight back, but I know if I don't get my head on straight and get back on track that I am going to end up gaining. Is their anyone else out there that is having the same struggle??
Toni
Hi Toni. I fear weight gain too. There are days when I snack and days when I don't. My favorite thing to snack on is Wheat Thins so I've quit buying them, LOL! I find that I usually do pretty well all day and then in the late afternoon or evening I want to snack. I try to make the best choices that I can, but some days are tougher than others. I've also upped my exercise routine to help defeat the extra calories from snacking. I guess having a snack now and then isn't going to ruin everything, but I think if we get to the point of grazing on snack foods all day then we'll be in trouble! I know I haven't been much help, but just wanted you to know that you're not alone in your struggle!
Hang in there!

I was just going to post the same question. I am alomst 2yrs out and have started to tolerate many more foods than in the past. I find myself snacking a lot lately, usually at night. I too am afraid of gaining my weight back. I still stick to my exercise schedule, but have gained about 8 lbs. I have been told it is the 2yr old curse, very normal at this stage of the game. But...I will need to put a stop to it now before it gets out of hand. I will watch the replies to this post for any helpful hints. Thanks.
I have a friend that is 2yrs out and I seen her about 2 weeks ago and noticed she has gained some weight back too. I have heard that at or after about 2ys is when people start gaining weight back when they don'****ch what they eat. I am fastly approaching two yrs so I need to get busy and serious about this.
A better question might be "is there anyone out there who doesn't have this problem".
If we're honeest, I think we all struggle with this at some point. It's how we deal with it that makes the difference.
We've got to find out "why" and then make a plan to deal with it.
I just ordered 4 different books on the subject -- hopefully I can come up with some answers for myself.
What's causing us to snack now is the same reasons we overate before. We had the surgery, but most likely never dealt with the real problems that caused the eating problem.
Good luck!
