Great response DX. My son and I were just discussing today how people always tend to comment on 'the good ol days and how 'kids today aren't like they were in my day''... That conversation grows old for me. No, the Main board certainly seems different than the old days but somehow I am sure it is a combination of the board evolving and us growing too. I, for one, have grown really tired of all the complaints on the new board format. It really doesn't seem that different to me. I visit occasionally, read sporadically and contribute even less lately. Don't think it makes me a bad person though--lol. I do, however, try to help when I see someone needs some help. Nice seeing ya DX

Hi Lynda!! It's good to see you after my absence. I am on the Alabama board mostly now. I will stop by the Grads board from time to time too...it's just that the 'Bama board just feels like home to me. I have no good excuse for my absence. I have had a lot of "emotional" stuff going on for months now. Some of it is going well...some of it is not. One day at a time. I hope you are doing well and hope you will accept my appologies for being absent for so long. Be looking for the pics of me and my new motorcycle coming soon. I just bought a 1999 Kawasaki, Vulcan 750. Now all I have to do is learn how to ride the damn thing!! I have class starting the second week of June then I'll have my liscence. Hope to see ya around soon and hope you are doing well. Say hi to all for me and take care of yourself....Be good now....Cap'n K-Man

Hey K-man Good to see you and congratulations on your new bike. My husband wants one really badly. Riding around Wisconsin sounds much better than FL--although my girlfriend in Wisconsin had a little run in with a deer and her bike. I am glad that at least some of the emotional stuff is going well--sorry about the other stuff. Why the Bama board? Wish my Florida board was a little more active. It was for a little while. Anyway--thanks for saying hi and 'be sure in come on back now--ya here'

Hi Ken, I was wondering if you had gone away. I did for awhile but I need to log in to stay honest with myself. I bounce around on several forums these days. have fun with the new bike. Laurie

..............Hey Dx!! I just recently came back....again and spend most of the time so far on the Alabama board. Hope to see ya around. The invite to you still stands if you get close to the Madison Wis. area though. I'm only about a half hour away by car so drop me a line if you will be in the area and maybe we can meet some time if you're in town for business. Stay cool my friend....Cap'n K-Man

Count me as part of the problem. I checked out the Main Board (MB) a long time ago. Just too much cutesy for me. But my absence here is difference. I am losing (or is that loosing) my WLS-persona. For years, I was obese. The terms I used to speak to myself reflectted as much. I had WLS almost three years ago, and lost 150 in around 9 months. I have added back on about 10 pounds since, but I am quite comfortable and satisfied where I am. But I digress. I am no longer defined by obesity and have largely shed the mantle of WLS. I am just Jay, PoppaHotrolls if you will, and becoming Nowhere Man more and more. It is just time for me to move on. I think that many will follow when their time comes. They will simply find that the world now open to them is more compelling than the world centered on obesity and WLS. Jay, Just Jay

As usual, what I wrote was taken the wrong way. I WASN'T referring to any of the grads, I was talking about the main board and some of the newbies being afraid to share their experience along the way when someone else has a question regarding the same thing. I would hope that people had enough sense to call their doctor when something is not right, but while they are waiting for the appointment or a call back I'm sure ( like me ) they would like to hear other peoples opions or experience. EXAMPLE: I was asking about anyone experiencing black outs and stated that I had a doctors appointment already schedule. Most not all but most of my replys where "call your doctor". Anyway.....I'm not going to drag this out and make a big thing out of it, but Lynda, you made a comment to me that you haven't seen me give any advise lately......that would be due to avoiding comments like yours.

Honestly Kim--I apologize for my snippy reply. It really was uncalled for. I guess I read some of the responses to your question regarding the blackouts and I don't blame anyone for urging you to see the doctor. Blackouts are a serious thing and I would imagine not many people here have personal experience with something like you described. Then when you add that to your previous 'bash' regarding the people who attended the Orlando OH event (I was among the people who attended and I remember specifically looking for you--I met lots of really nice people at the event) I guess I had my back up a little. Again, I apologize, there really is no excuse for such a harsh reply. I hope you find the solution to your blackout problem soon.
