Tracy, I weigh in every morning! I've been below goal for over a year now. I started at 385lbs 6'1" Now? A range from 179 to 182 depending on the day of the week. If I'm up? I don't "beat myself up over it." Or "get crazed." I just add an extra 15 minutes of walking the next time I go for my walk And maybe if I'm up at 182 for more than a few days, I'll cut out about 5 gms or so of carbs from my intake. When I drop back down, I'll add them back. I so often see - "Throw The Scale Away!!!" "It Just will Make You Crazy!! And Discouraged!!" It's Not the Scale that discourages people. The Scale, just accurately gives the facts about the gravitational force. People allow themselves to be discouraged, crazed, etc... By the way they respond to the facts. "Facts Don't Hurt People, People Do!" I use the scale the same way I would use a measuring cup to follow a recipe. As a source of information that will help me make a more exact set of choices For the recipe/formula to work. So Far? So Good.... Best Wishes- Dx

That's awesome Dx! Thanks so much! I always see people say "throw away the scale" and I guess it made me feel guilty for weighing in every day, LOL. I think if we use it properly and use the information we gain from it properly, then everything's fine! Hugs, Tracy B

I weigh in most days. I was getting too obsessewith weighing multiple times daily, and found that I may fluctuate by 5 pounds in a day EASILY. I had to cut back for sanity, I was on my way to a really serious problem. when I found my self tempted to vomit or take a laxitive when I was up several pounds in a day and I was starting to over exercise (2+ hours a day) fortunatly my therapist talked to me about over exercising being a symptom of bulemia and I didn't discuss the other stuff w/ her as I was too embarrassed. but It was a wake up call for me and I had to readjust what I was doing. I am in a much better and healthier pattern now. I stick with my program very well, exercise moderately ( no more than an hour a day) I have relaxed to where I don't always weigh every day, and found Wed when I weighed I was the lowest I have been in about a year. If daily weighting works for you and you are happy and content and feel healthy and strong, you do what ever works for you, Just don't be afraid to change if it stops working or becomes a problem.

Thank you so much. I appreciate your honesty. And, I think you're so right when you say not to be afraid to make a change if it stops working for me~that's good advice! Hugs, Tracy B
