Hi everyone. I tried Muscle Milk and it was a bit heavy for me, but tasted okay. Here is the nutritional information on it. Can you tell me how it's worked for you? Do you know of a similar item that's easier on our pouch? I'm wanting to start using it since I'm not coming close enough to getting in all my protein, my protein was low at my last doctor's appt. Thanks for your help! NO Trans Fatty Acids Zero Lactose 34g of Protein Tastes Great! 12 - 17oz cans

The Muscle Milk I used when I was running 60+ miles per week has 30+ carbs and IIRC 300+ calories, that is quite a bit. If you are doing a ton of exercise, its OK, heck its probably necessary, otherwise probably not. When we focus to much on a single statistic (like protein), we sometimes miss other important factors. Muscle Milk tastes good, makes me dump, too many calories for me. I have my mom on it right now as she is losing weight (82 years old). I also tells the people in my support group that can't stop losing to drink the Muscle Milk. Muscle Milk is for building muscles. You need to be doing extreme body building to use it in my opinion. Hope this helps... Darlene

Cathy, H-E-B (& Central Market) have their own brand or high protein lactose free milk. It is called MooTopia. MooTopia is real milk, only better.... Compared to traditional whole milk, H-E-B's MooTopia features 60 percent less sugar, 35 percent more calcium, 75 percent more protein, 4 grams of carbs, is enhanced with vitamins A and D and lactose free. MooTopia also is substantially creamier and more flavorful than traditional milk. MooTopia skim milk is creamier than traditional 2 percent milk, while MooTopia 2 percent is creamier than traditional whole milk. Tom

The guy at the Vitamin Shoppe raved about it one day and so I bought one from the cold case and tried it on my drive home. BLAH! I have a sweet tooth from hell and this gagged me it was so sweet and thick. Personal preference aside, Tek is right, its high carb high calorie. If it fits into your calorie alotment, and you keep your other carbs low, I would suggest drinking this in the morning so you burn those carbs off during the day, instead of coming home and sitting or sleeping on them. Atkins cans run 18grams of protein for about 170 calories (4 carbs, 9 fats). AchievOnes run 20grams of protein for 120 calories (5 carbs, 0 fat, cafinated). I've tried tons of powders and don't like any of them, especially not any of the fruity flavored ones. I finally ordered Unjury and found it light, mixable, and drinkable. I mix one and a half scoops with 6 ounces of water in a water bottle, screw the cap and shake and put in my lunch bag for after the gym. My trainer suggested buying a funnel for the easiest way to get it in the bottle, or make a paper funnel. 1 scoop Choc or Vanilla is 20 g prot, 0 fat, 3 carb, 90 calories. Unflavored is 20 g prot, 0 fat, 0 carb, 80 calories. ( unjury.com sells sample packs) You can make SF pudding and add protein powder, or try Stalone Protein pudding (20g prot, 2 fat, 2 carb, 100 calories). I like the choc, but it comes in vanilla, bannana, and lemon I think. You could eat 4 slices of Krafts fat free singles and get 20 grams of protein for 120 calories (30 cal per slice). The 2% cheese is 60 calories apiece, so watch the labels... Everything I listed are my main sources of protein, along with cottage cheese, egg beaters, ff ham, turkey, chicken, and carb count down milk. Mostly supplements and dairy, not much of a meat eatter or cooker LOL. My weight stays between 154-158, at goal and stable for 6 mnths. I go to the gym 6 days a week, weight train with a trainer, walk and run for 20+ miles a week. I take in 125-175 grams of protein a day, in 1500-1700 calories. Mic
