I am 34 years old and I am researching the Lap band...I have had prob with my monthly for 8 years now when I got tied after my last son...my question is....does the lap band give anyone trouble with there monthly? my trouble right now is I have one about every 3 to 4 months and it is very heavy with bad cramps. I just want to know is this going to get worse?

I can't answer the lap band question b/c I had RNY, but as far as my cycle, I was like you. I would only get it every 4 mths and it was always terrible. My ob/gyn told me my weight was causing the problems and that's why my cycle didn't come monthly. Within 2mths of having surgery, I've had a regular cycle ever since! Now it comes monthly and its not bad at all. Good Luck to You! Tracy B 328/154 5'9"

Thank you so much!! I gained most of my weight after getting my tubes tied so I would have to say that My cycle started messing up when I gained the weight...so maybe your obgyn is right about me to...now I have something eles to look forward to. Thank you TY

ty..thats so ironic..after i had my tubes tied and got fixed as i say..i gained weight big time and just thought it was because i had given birth 16 months in a row.. there may be something to weight gain with a tubuligation. but i was like clockwork every 28 days and the first 2 days heavy and 5 days normal.. makes you wonder bout those tubulagations.
