I am 10 pounds from being a (normal bmi) But you know what I started my journey at a bmi of 72 and here I am 2 years post op with a bmi of 27. I am considered on the low side of obese at 5'4 and 158 pounds. My health is great, I feel great, and I couldn't be more happier! My docs goal was 200 pounds flat! Said I would not go any further than that. Now a friend of mine who started at the same weight had her doc tell her her goal was 136 so she would have a normal bmi! Personally I think your body is going to stop losing when it is comfortable. As long as there is not any health problems. My body is comfy at 158. been here for a right good while now. I even had 2.2 pounds cut off and I still weigh the same! Don't let the numbers play with your head. If I let that happen I would be insane now worrying over those last 10 pounds. It's just not worth the headache. Enjoy life and all the new things that are out there waiting for you! Hugs Lisa 423/158 and extremely happy!;)

Lisa, I read your profile and looked at your pics. You are an AMAZING woman ... and your transformation is the most dramatic that I've ever seen.

I'm not at goal yet, but I'm still working on it... At this stage of the game its harder to do, but still doable. I started at a BMI of 56; it's now 39. I'm 57 lbs away from my doctor's goal of 170. Do I wish I had done better at the beginning of this journey? You bet... No sense in crying over lost time, I'm pushing forward. My doctor told me at the beginning of the journey that weight loss can still be had after the honeymoon phase with diet and exercise as with any normal person. So the battle continues... and I'll get there!!! I must admit that I feel great. I'm more agile than I've ever been in my life and all my blood work is NORMAL. Haven't seen these kinds of numbers in 20 years! Denise

I made goal. Even though most people consider me a lightweight when I started out (how anyone can say that at 256lb is beyond me) But I am now in normal weight range.. My drs goal was 150 I got as low as 127 but I was sickly looking there so I purposly gained up to 130-135.. I am happy where I am at and hope i can maintain for many years

In September 2006 I will be 5 years out from surgery. It's hard to believe it has been that long. I started out at my top weight of 297 to 300 lbs range wearing a size 26-28. After surgery, I got down 100 lbs in the first 6 months. After that it was slower, but began to be in stops & starts. At one point I thought I had stopped losing completely, but then after about 5 months, it just started again and I lost another 20 to 25 lbs. Overall, I lost 160 lbs in 2 yrs total time. Then I regained about 3-4 lbs to my new weight range of 140 to 145 lbs at 5 feet 7 inches. My problem (?) is that unless I take in enough calories each day, I start to lose more. I have had to add some carbs and even a few sweets to maintain my weight. I exercise very moderately. I do wear a size 6/8 (pre-plastic surgery - someday I will be able to afford it!!) and am very happy with that. Of course, I was very happy when I was in a 12 too, so the size is not an issue. The point is that everyone is so very different and all our bodies react very individually to this surgery and so many factors that we can't compare ourselves in detail to the next person. We MUST be happy at our achievement level and if we are not, then do something about it; but don't beat yourself up or say you aren't a success because you didn't have the same experience as so-and-so. We are ALL WINNERS!!! My BMI is in the 25 range now. I didn't think I'd ever get here, and it sure has been fun. Many warm hugs to all the winners in their road to self-satisfaction wherever that may be. Karen
