4 Years Out Today!!!
Not only do I turn a year older today, but this is the day I can say I am finally 4 years post-op! It has not been an easy past 4 years, however, I am glad I hung in there and weathered it out. For the longest time I questioned myself and had a pretty negative attitude. Today, I am so grateful and have learned so much about myself. I truly believe having this surgery forced me to deal with the many issues I had carried around from my childhood for so long. Everyday just seems to get better and my problems shorter.
I am doing great physically. My bloodwork is still normal. I continue to eat healthy a majority of the time. I admit, I have a love for chocolate! I exercise regularly and have become addicted to spinning!! I have maintained my weight loss pretty darn well! Of course I have experienced gains of up to 10lbs for a variety of reasons at different times, but have always lost it because I know how to use this tool, not to mention I try to keep in mind where I come from and how life used to be before I had surgery. I just don't let everything in my life get out of control like I used to.
I believe my personal success is due to following a healthy diet, taking vitamins, drinking lots of water, exercising regularly, continued therapy and follow up visits with the docs.
I wish everyone good luck in their journey and I hope that it is as fruitful as mine has been!!
Congratulations on this awesome achievement!!
I am truly thrilled when I see success stories like yours. Even though it has been challenging at times, you have stayed true to the "plan" and come out a winner. I hope that in another two years I can be at your point and look back with the same joy.
Good luck on the new year to come!
Linda
Kudos to you on your success.
You are an inspiration to those of us who follow you in this journey. Personally I have a constant fear of regaining weight that when I read the success of others it gives me great hope for the future. I do not expect my journey to be easy and I know it will be filled with many trials and tribulations...yet there is hope in keeping this weight off and by continuously being diligent and using the tool.

Hi, I am 15 months out and this is my first time on this board. It is great to hear from people who are more than 2 years out and doing good, which you seem to be. I try to follow what you say about what has brought you success and it has worked as I am down 120 lbs from surgery and don't plan on falling off the wagon.
Have a good one.
