i didnt know this form existed! i have just recently started walking the lake near my home. i love it! my only fear is that the lakes do get a little crowded with the nice weather. i am in minnesota where we do have 10,000 but i like that one. its a lil over 4 miles and you can see the whole lake from anywhere around it. beautiful! ok happy walking everyone! kay dee

hi diamond navy wife! i have just recently fell in love with walking. i used to hate it..but ive been getting up every morning and going for the last week and a half. its about 4 miles and sometimes i go again in the evening. they say its the best form of exercise..so we should all go for it! do you have a pedometer..thats a way for you to keep track of calories burned, steps taken, etc. and target or walmart usually have a good price and good selection. ok happy walking! oh yeah and always take you some jamz if you go alone that really helps me! kay dee

Topic: RE: Saturday Morning Walk
hello fellow walkers,. I'm in Berks County,PA. We 're walking in the 'RELAY FOR LIFE' weekend walk on June 11th and 12th. We meaning my 16 yr old daughter and I. If you've never heard of it let me explaine. You pay a $10. registration fee when you start walking with a team at 2:00 pm. you continue to walk on a track at the school nearby until 2:00 pm the next afternoon. At all times someone from your team must be walking on the track. The rest of your team can take a break, eat, nap, just meet with other walkers. The funds collected go toward brest cancer research. You can also sponsor a candle for $5.00 which is lit and placed around the outside of the track. You can do this to honor the memory of a passed loved one or in honor and support of a cancer survivor. Last year there were hundreds of walkers and alot of money was raised. The track when full of walkers and lit by candles is a sight to behold. Its a great reason to walk, a great cause to support and I'm really looking forward to it. In the meantime. All of you keep putting one foot in front of the other and you'll be one step closer to goal. HUGS>>>>>kathie -120lbs.

Congratulations Roxane, It is good to do this before your wls, I wish I did cause It was awful. I was dead wt laying there in my bed and my legs sure wasn't strong enough to get up and walk. Walking is good, before I had wls, I couldn't even walk to my driveway before getting winded. so keep up the good job. Take care**Hugs**

Hi Everyone, I'm new to walking and this board. I'm pre-surgical with a BMI through the roof! I made it about 30 feet passed my driveway, but it will be 35 feet tomorrow. I don't want to wait till after surgery to shock my body with the concept of walking. I hope it will make me just a bit healthier to undergo the surgery, which is a few months away. I don't have any bragging rights but I just want to encourage- especially the super obese-the journey of a thousand miles begins- not in the recliner. Take Care Everyone! Roxane
