Topic: RE: Walking
I just started my walking habit at the end of April. (I had my surgery in February) I just set a goal to make it to the end of my street and back. I walked until I felt tired and then would press just a little bit more each day. Proudly I tell you this now, 6 months later and I am up to 4 miles/7 days a week. I get the four miles done in about one hour and 10 minutes. I am really pushing fast for cardio benefits.
Hope this helps you set your goal!

Keontay,
I started out at a mile, going a speed that was comfortable for me, which was much slower than most everyone else out there walking. It took me about 25 minutes. After a week or so, I started going a little further. After about a month or two, I was walking 3 miles, but I was taking just over an hour to complete it. Since then, I have stuck with the same mileage, but I am trying to decrease the time it takes me to complete it. When I started, I was very overweight and completely out of shape. If you are fairly active now, you can probably start out further and faster. Hope all goes well.

Topic: RE: Mark This Date in History-I took my first walk today!
This post if over a year old, but I liked your post and wanted to know how it all worked out. I went to your profile, but you haven't updated in a while. How is the walking going? How about the weight loss?

Topic: Walking alone again
I am training for the Houston Marathon and for the 1st three months, I was walking alone and was okay with it. Then I found this great walking partner who lives just around the corner from me and we have been walking together for a little over a month. She is great for me! She has been dependable and motivating. However, she had been having some pain in her shoulder and neck the last few times we were together and the doctor told her today that she has arthritis in her neck. She won't be walking with me again for a while and maybe not forever. I am going to miss her so much. I am going to try to find someone else to train with, but it took so long to find her, that I don't see it happening. I just feel discouraged and selfish -- after all, she's the one with a condition that will effect her for the rest of her life. Seeing this in print has put it in better perspective for me. Thanks for listening!

Hello fellow walking partners, I started to do Pilates but I recently discovered the "Walk away the Pounds" program and I just love it, have any of you tried it? Does it really work?

Famliy guess what a sistah went to return some pants today at Marshalls, and was able to get into a size 12 stretch jean, who cares if they are stretch they are a 12 praise God.Then I brought two cute dresses size 10 on sale that fit so very nice, only because I'm so limited up top lol ( hello world here I come lol. , Talk about being encouraged to get my butt to the gym, hell I might even workout twice a day for this kind of rewarding feeling lol.
Thanks family for your continued support and Thanks Frenchy for your comment, about girl do you work out,it rings in my head daily and acts as a motivator when I feel lazy and don't want to go to the gym.
My next goal is to be in a solid 10 by my 40 birthday which is October 10 wish me luck and lots of discipline. : JUMP:
BE GOOD TO YOU.....
