OHSU??

Hi, I am going to have surgury at OHSU and am wondering if anyone out there has any advice or info to share about their program. I am attending a orientation on the 14th. I am approved thru Medicaid of Washington to move forward with the 6mo. supervised diet and see a psychologist.

Super, are you going to get a DS with Dr. McConnell? I've several people have been pleased with him! If you're getting the DS, I'd suggest posting this on the DS board - and I'm sure you'll get responses. Jill

I'm not sure what procedure I will have. I dont know much about DS and I'm unsure if Medicaid of Washington will pay for it. I know they cover RNY. I will find out more on the 14th.

I was turned down about a year and a half ago. After which I began to document all of my co-morbidities. I visited my doctor for all of them and was refered to specialists who further documented everything. My surgeons office screwed up and didnt submitt my papers for about 4 months after my visit. But once everything was submitted it didnt take long. Infact I believe they only have 20 days to make their disicion. Mine took awhile. I would highly suggest getting on the waiting list at UW now, even before they approve your diet because UW has a 1+ year waiting list for Medicaid.
