Individual or Additional Medical Insurance.

Has anyone ever taken out an individual medical insurance policy that will cover weight loss surgery? If so would love to find out more information and what Company/Policy you have. Thank you!

No, but I have done a bit of research recently and there just isn't an individual plan that includes obesity, bariatric treatment. I have also looked into the supplemental health savings plans and they are just to risky. They tell you great stuff like they can save you up to 70% on any surgery. Not really true... There are no gurantees on what they can save you. What they do is call whoever you are going to have surgery with and negotiate lower rates. What I got from the surgeons office is that they negotiate with no one besides insurance companies. These health care savings plans are not insurance and if they lead you to believe that they are breaking the law. So I just continue to pray for gods blessing and that his will be done.
