My doctor in Chelan, will be referring me to Surgical Specialists of Spokane. I understand that they have three doctors...Dr. Schrock, Dr. Mac Farlane, and Dr. Nye. I would like to know more information about these doctors. I fiqure the best of any information, would come from the patients themselves.

A friend of mine just had surgery with Dr. Schrock at Sacred Heart. She likes him. I believe he only does the open RNY not the lap. I have heard really good things about Dr. Rawlings in Spokane also.

I've heard the opposite. Are you self paying? You should see about Dr. Pennings in Post Falls Idaho, it's only 25 miles further into Northern Idaho, he's awesome and has a wonderful program. Oh and he does lap. Good luck!

Dr. Schrock did both mine and my brothers and did an excellent job. He only does open RNY, but I would highly reccomend him to anyone. I also heard very highly of Dr. Pennings and actually looked at him doing my surgery, but three years ago he was to new to do surgeries with my high BMI. He also does the lapband now and my fiancee moved here from back east and tried to see him when she was having some problems. She couldn't get liquids down at all for 2 days or any solids. Her doctor back east told her to get in immediately and get an unfill before she damaged her lapband. Pennings wouldn't see her for three weeks. Three weeks. How in the world could she go three weeks without eating or drinking. I ended up taking her to the emergency room when she was in so much pain she was crying and having an untrained doctor do an unfill on her. The unfills take five minutes and he should have fit her into his schedule in an emergency situation like that. Even if she had to wait in his office until he could squeeze her in, but they wouldn't even offer that. They just didn't care. I was and still am very upset with how she was treated in a situation where she needed help right away. She had been trying to get Pennings as her doctor here, but no more. I am flying her back home whenever she needs an adjustment or we have another doctor in town now that will do the unfills, but Dr. Pennings will never, ever see my fiancee again, but he won't care about that either. He has enough other patients. I wish you luck in whatever you decide. I have also heard very good things about Dr. Bright in Spokane. Calvin

My doctor is Dr. Rawlins from Rockwood Clinic. The best part of this practice is the support group. We meet once a month and it is facilitied by the group and they tend to answer questions about any stage for - anyone thinking about the surgery to 2+ years post op now. The nutricianist, PT, PA, and the doctors themselves attend sometimes. It is really nice and the clothing sharing helps so that we are not buying clothes for every stage. The next meeting is the third thursday of July at Rockwood Clinic at 6 PM. Everyone is welcome. I have heard both good and bad about Dr. Schrock the one thing that most I hear from other patients is that they wish they had an active support group and felt connected to others who have had WLS from Dr. Schrocks practice. Anyway you are welcome to check ours out. Rockwood is looking to offer a support group meeting in the Tri-cities area according to Carol. Hope that happens there! Good Luck! -Gerriann 170 pounds gone forever!
