Insurance Questions

Hi... Im a new State of Washington employee but now I have to choose a new insurance policy! Are there any other state employees with suggestions on the best policy to choose. Im TOTALLY approved for surgery by my wonderful doctor it was actually her suggestion! I had Blue Cross Blue shield and it had a exclusion sooo I open to any and all advice anyone can give Thanks soooo very much! Kim Johnson

Kim, I can only give advice as to who NOT to choose. Absolutely do not choose Uniform Medical Plan if you plan to have WLS. They not only have an exclusion plan but also state in the policy "Even if medically necessary we won't cover WLS." Sure glad we retired teachers pay almost $800 per month for health care. I had my surgery 2/16 and am doing great but had to self pay. Best wishes, Karen

I'm not a state of WA employee but if you can get Great-West PPO I know they cover the surgery "if medically necessary'
