Group Health

I am in the process of purchasing new coverage and want to make sure that WLS will be covered. I have read the written exclusions for the Group Health Catastrophic Plan and Obesity/Surgery does not appear to be excluded. Has anyone had any experience with this plan?

I myself just spoke with Alicia at the Group Health Customer Service as I am in the same boat you are (insurance changing due to new Retail Clerks contract). I specifically asked about weight loss surgery. She told me that Group Health covers bariatric surgery (if you meet criteria for it, which I assume are the same things--over 100 lb. overweight, etc.,etc.) at 85% after the $150.00 deductible. I am planning to change over to Group Health.
