chewing gum

Is it true I'll never be able to chew gum again? I heard that from someone.

yes...if by chance it gets stuck in your pouch or narrowing area...it may be another operation to remove it.

I chew sugar free gum all the time. In the first few monthes it can cause air and gas but now at 5 monthes post op I'm fine with it.

Christina, As with everything every doctors advice is different, but mine said under no cir****tances should I ever have gum. He told me that if it gets stuck that I would have to have another operation to remove it. I don't miss it anymore and I used to chew it all the time. I would ask your surgeon their opinion. Calvin
