City of Seattle Insurance Approval

Has anyone working for the city of Seattle gotten WLS approval more specifically the DS. On their benefits website they state an exclusion so any information otherwise would be helpful.

Hi, I am not sure which insurance plan you have with the Seattle of City but my husbands would not pay anything for my WLS. We had to pay out of pocket. I did hear that if you have the Group Health insurance plan that it did pay but I am not positive on that. FYI, not sure if you were aware that if you do pay out of pocket it is a tax deductible. I know that doesn't help when coming up with the money but at least those paying out of pocket do get the tax break. I hope this helps. Feel free to email me anytime. Lori

Curious...how do you get to claim it as a tax deduction? Health cost?
