Newbie from British Columbia

Hello everyone. I just joined up - what a great place to get information. I live in Vancouver, Canada and, with my doctor's blessing have decided on bariatric surgery. Believe it or not, there is NO surgeon in Vancouver - the waiting list for the one surgeon in Victoria is over one year just for an assessment. any Canucks out there who have had the surgery and can share their experience with me? I would like to know what decisions you made, whether or not BC Medical helped out. Much thanks. Heather
