United Health Care denied Psych eval..

UHC denied covering my psych eval. They approved the WLS but, not this. I have Tricare Standard but, not sure if it will cover it either. Anyone else have this happen?

I wish I could remember the correct terminology, but I had this happen too. You want to make sure the insurance company knows its required for surgery. The psych doctor office needs to process it with a different code than a standard psych visit. Once I got the correct code from the insurance company, the approval went right through. I have Tricare Prime. They require a Psych evaluation even though my surgeon doesn't. So you should go ahead & call them. For Prime members it is a $25 co-pay. Marj
