weight gain in hospital

I am wondering how often people gain weight in the hospital and how much. My doctor said it was likely to happen. thanks

I gained about 20lbs. It is all water and comes off in a few days after your return home.

I gained 25 lbs. As of this morning I was back where I started from, so mine took 10 days to come off. My body seemed like it didn't want to let go. My feets and legs were swollen for 4 days, and I walked, walked, walked! Finally, now I can watch the scale drop and know it will be me and not the IV fluid gain!

I only gained about 10 pounds of water/fluid weight. It was off by my first Doc appt. 10 days after surgery. Good luck, Tammy
