For years, my sister has done a St. Patricks Day Dash. (Her b-day is St. Patricks Day). I've been so envious and quiety jealous. This year, she skipped the Seattle event due to a change in route, etc. ANYWAY, I signed up for the one on Bangor (sub base) with three of  my co-workers.

I set a Personal Record. Completed the 5K in 32.15 with an average pace of 10:24 (just under a 6 mph). I DID THE ENTIRE ROUTE WITHOUT WALKING A STEP!!!

Okay, there...just had to share.  Another 5K in April then my first 10K in June!

Pic after the race. I'm far left, then co-workers, Toni, Sundi, Jeni. Toni and I did the 5K the other two ladies improved their one mile run time!

Hugs,
Kathy
Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up.
It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed.
Every morning in
Africa, a lion wakes up.
It knows that it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve.
It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle
when the sun comes up you'd better be running.

Thanks Steve!  I actually try to run a 5K every weekend. I use the site www.mapmyrun.com to  map out runs near my home (Southworth/Sedgwick). The bad thing: Either direction I go out of my driveway is a HILL!  The GOOD thing: Hill workouts burn more calories, increase endurance and strength train legs.

Let me know if you want to join me some time! (My DH can't run due to back surgery, so I typically go solo or my 15 yr. old daughter goes).

Thanks again!
Kathy
