odd question

Are there other reason's for having bariatric surgrey, I mean other then for weight loss purposes? Im trying to think outside the box when my insurance has a written exclusion, excluding bariatric surgery for the sole  purpose of loosing weight.

It fixes or vastly improves a number of comorbidities. For example diabetes - mine was gone just about right away (although it may have helped that it wasn't very bad to start with). My blood pressure is now great, and it helps many people with back or joint pain to lose weight.

The list goes on.
