I've been getting printouts of the body composition analyzer but I don't know what everything means and what's good or what's bad or what's in good range, etc...

it's like this

Body type
Gender
Age
Height
Weight
BMI
(so far I can understand all that up above)
(but below... uhmm clarification, please?)
BMR (???)
IMPEDANCE (???)
FAT%
FAT MASS
FFM (???)
TBW (???)
DESIRABLE RANGE
FAT%
FAT MASS

well...  it's been awhile since i had one of those done, tho Dr. Rabkin went thru it all at one point, but my memory is terrible...  i have some guesses, if the numbers make sense, lol

BMR - several guesses on this one...  doubt any are correct, but bones maybe, or target bmi
impedence - nfi
fat % - i'm pretty certain this is the percentage of your current body fat
fat mass - correlates to the %, just an actual measurment, i believe
ffm - nfi
tbw - nfi - also maybe bone weight?
desirable range - seems kinda common sense to me - what someone your height and age and gender should be for fat % and mass - i think this is somewhat more tailored to you specifically (moreso than a chart or whatever), based on how big your bones are, and how much muscle you have, etc.

one of them ought to be an estimation of muscle mass as well, or a percentage.

I can shed a little light on a few...

FFM - Fat Free mass
TBW - Total Body Water
Impedance - electric currant flow through your body
BMR - Basal Metabolic Rate

Hope this helps....

On Impedance, what's better, more or less? and Total Body Water.... what's better more or less?
