I got my date!

I finally got my surgery date! 12/26 YAY!!! Has anyone else gone through VA Mason? My pre-surgical appts are all on the same day, 4 days prior to surgery. I didn't get a pre-op diet, is that normal? I need to call them back for all the details... but I was just excited to get my date!! Thanks everyone for all of your support and encouragement.

Congrats!!! What a wonderful Christmas present...

I had Dr Hunter, when is your appt with the dietition? Thats where you get the pre-op diet... I had to do 2 protein shakes a day and 1 low fat meal (they give you a menu plan). I did all my pre-op appts on the same day too.

YAY! congrats

246 in Dec 2008 before banded 1/28/09 at 215 lbs, band crapped 9/09 at 170 lbs and struggled with it and regained to 203 revised to bypass on 8/1/11 and am very happy.

That is fantastic!!!! I wi**** was me too.....I've had my consultations, heart stress tests, EGD's, mental health eval all to find out my insurance company (Boeing Traditional) won't accept me because even though I lost weight overall over the past year, I don't have 12 months documentation of weight loss with no gains through an MD. It's the pits - so now I'm back to dieting again.................

I would think you would get a 10-day liquid pre-op diet to shrink your liver - at least that's what I have been told. Do check with your doctor's office.
