hiatal hernia repair anyone??

I am scheduled for vertical sleeve in one month - yippee ----  I have a hiatal hernia and am considering having it repaired at the same time - repair done with a "mesh".   I'm looking for anyone having had hiatal hernia repair along with VSG for their feedback. Thank you in advance :)  L.

You might not get too many replies from folks who had the vertical sleeve with hiatal hernia , because I don't see that many vertical sleeve people on the Washington board . Don't know why . I had my open RNY on 9-28-06 , with a hiatal hernia repair . He never mentioned if he used mesh or not . Makes me wonder . I do know I don't have any HH symptoms anymore  . Mine was really bad , I guess . I know other people who didn't get theirs repaired , so I feel fortunate that my surgeon did that . Kathy
