How Long For Approval Answer???

Finally I am waiting for Medicaids approval for stage one for the wls. I am hoping I have enough medical evidence in their eyes! My doctor feels like we have enough. But, she also told me to not be surprised if I am denied and that you just have to stay persistant...so I will! Does anyone know how long it took to wait for the approval from Medicaid or any medical coverage?

Unfortunately it varies widely. Sometimes it takes a day or two sometimes it takes months and lots of re-submissions. Some insurance companies just immediately deny large ticket items like this and hope the patient doesn't keep at it. But she's right, be persistant and give them everything they want and more. Eventually they will have to approve it given enough evidence that you qualify. Good luck Corinna Q

Hi Debbie, I have Aetna and it took them about 4 weeks. Try to be patient and call them to see what the progress is. Good luck?
