Is there anyone out there that knows of any pro-bono bariatric surgeons. Or can someone help me find a way to get my insurance company to pay for it. They said I do not meet stage 1 criteria, BUT I DO! I don't get it.

La Donna, Unfortunately I doubt you will find a surgeon who will do the surgery for free, and even if they waive their charge you have all of the hospital, asst surgeon, anatheseologist, etc charges that add up to a big portion of a self pay bill. If your insurance co does cover the procedure but denied you then the best thing you can do is appeal, appeal, appeal...if you feel you qualify then make them listen. Find out EXACTLY what documentation they need to prove you qualify under their terms and provide it to them. Inundate them with paperwork that shows you need the surgery. Good luck Corinna Q

Sorry, your post doesn't have enough information for any of us to really respond to your post. I don't think you'd find any surgeon who could do pro bono surgery... Lori
