Does any one know of a good psycologist in western Washington that deals with emotional eating issues. I am looking for someone who can help get me going in the right direction in learning to deal with the emotional side of things. Thanks Sharon

I don't know. I am meeting with a psychologist that my surgeon reccomened as part of their pre-req for surgery, and if she is good, I'll let you know. Alternatively- if you find someone, I'd love to know that too! Michelle

Hi Sharon, I cannot recommend a psychologist, but I can recommend some CDs. They are made by a successful WLS (Lap Band) Nurse, and a professional counselor. They are very highly recommended by many of the WLS patients from Dr. Kuri. I am sure they are just as applicable to RNY, as the base emotions are the same regardless of which WL tool we have chosen to help us conquer the obesity. I do not yet have them myself, but am planning on getting them soon. I am still new to the whole WLS so I am still losing, the emotional eating hasn't really kicked in for me, but I know that it will.... I just haven't had the triggers yet. http://www.bandsterme.com/ is the website that you can go to to read about the CDs and to order them. Good luck and in the meantime lean on us! If you need a buddy to call email me and I will give you my phone number. Blessings, Strength, and Peace Kelly
