I am only 4 days post op but I have only lost one pound. I haven't ate anything off of my program. Just wondering if this is going to work for me?
So I'm 12 years out from my sleeve surgery gave really maintained well my lowest weight was 137 I am now 145 I want desperately to lose the 8 lbs I have gained but just seems nearly impossible any advice is welcome ?
I was on clear liquids 2 weeks prior to surgery, and the 1st week after surgery, that included 5 protein shakes per day. As another poster said, I relied a lot on sugar-free jello for chewing, and lots of good rich broth. If I can do it for 3 weeks, you can, too!!! Hang in there!
Hi- I started my liquid diet as well a few days ago. It has been very challenging but I'm trying to keep my mind occupied with other things (binge watching a show, cleaning, laundry, etc). I'm down 6 pounds in just 5 days so you can do it. Hang in there.
I believe it! I just saw on my 600lb life the lady Melissa started working for the doctors office, so that is what gave me the idea. I am an honors student in college but I would rather help people at the actual surgery office instead of what my degree is going to be. I have invested almost 3 years already and it would be hard to change schools. I like that someone said a 5 year plan that was a great suggestion. I just don't wanna work a crappy job knowing what I really wanna do after being inspired by that woman Melissa. Seems like a dream and not a reality though, but I still have time to figure it out. And I have tried "doing something." I created a weight loss group, youtube videos, an instagram but there are soooo many others who have already done so it's not worth it to me to compete. Thank you for your response!

Believe it or not, being a paragon of beauty isn't what really helps people in obesity clinics. I mean, there are millions of examples of beautiful people surrounding us all day, every day -- everywhere we go.
It's actual experience -- and longevity with that experience that is most useful.
Why not concentrate on actually doing something, rather than just being something. That is what a true example is.

I'll do my best to convey my own experience. Bear in mind that I had a very easy recovery from surgery, with virtually no pain. However, I was 58 at the time, so I might have recovered a little more slowly than younger people. Everyone's experience is different.
I found it difficult to concentrate during the pre-op diet. Taking a test at that time would have been difficult for me, unless it was an easy test where I could afford to make a few mistakes.
After surgery my concentration was fine, but my stamina wasn't! I felt fine two days after surgery. I could have handled a test 3-4 days after surgery IF it wasn't longer than an hour or two. The main problem I had after surgery was that I would get exhausted easily. One minute I'd be fine, and the next minute I needed to sit down RIGHT NOW! Since I have a desk job, I would have been OK to go back to work after two weeks, but I'm glad that I followed my surgeon's advice and toke an entire month to recover.
The stamina took longer to come back than I expected. Two months after surgery, I started to give a presentation standing up, started to feel dizzy, and had to sit on the floor. I wasn't nervous about the presentation; it was standing up that did me in.
In summary: During the post-op diet I had enough stamina but found it a little difficult to concentrate. After surgery my concentration was fine, but I had no stamina.
Like White Dove, I also went to WW to lose a 20 pound regain. At the end of the day the same techniques that helped us lose weight after WLS apply: weigh regularly, track what you are eating, keep active. Tracking honestly is probably the most critical for me. I like using WW as it incorporates tracking but point based vs calorie based and it has steered me to healthier eating. I have a serious sweet tooth and for once in my life I don't have to deny it as I can satisfy it with fruits which is way more healthy than the sweets I used to eat.

I appreciate the information and feedback from all. I realize portions had increased at meals/snacks. I am down 5 pounds since starting the Rx - and I had the lab work done. I look look forward to seeing what lab work will reveal. This has been very helpful to re-focus. Appreciate all the help.
