Topic: RE: Hiatal Hernia, Considering DS

I am so sorry that you are facing this problem, but I am glad you posted because I have been having symptoms that I am pretty sure are from a hiatal hernia. I've been reading up trying to figure out if it's possible to fix this without resorting to doing an RNY.

Do you mind if I ask, did Dr. Jossart tell you anything about the success rate for a post-VSG hiatal hernia repair? Did he tell you anything about why so many people advise another bariatric procedure to fix this and why he doesn't? I am asking just because it seems really hard to find much info about dealing with a hiatal hernia after VSG except to just convert to an RNY. I absolutely do not want an RNY and I am afraid that I am going to be told it is the only option to fix this.

Love an ironic drop in post.

The few VSGers who stuck around hang out on the RNY group now

Dr A posts because he is the one of the premier surgeons for performing VSG, and he makes a point of continually reaching out to the VSG community to provide information for new and post-op patients. His videos are awesome and very informative, they helped me a lot in the first couple of years.

activity has dropped a lot in the six years I've been on here. It's too bad because I like this site much better than the other major bariatric forums, which seem to be mostly pre-ops and newbies (not that there's anything wrong with pre-ops and newbies, but that's not where I'm at anymore, and haven't been in quite awhile). This one has always had a nice mix of people at all different phases. I guess a lot of people are joining Facebook groups now, unfortunately ("unfortunately" because there are a lot of terrible ones out there...)

I guess that's what happens when you haven't been on in a while...

Topic: RE: Need help to quit vaping before surgery

Dude, it is all coming from your mind, trust me. I have felt that on my own skin. The nicotine from the vaping liquids is not that powerful when compared to the cigarettes, so it is much easier to quit vaping. I am not really looking to quit vaping right now, as I am pretty ok right now. However, I have had the experience to quit vaping back in the past, and I had no problems with that. Right now, I am experiencing problems to find new vape uk as the vape ban has actually made it really bad to find some proper stores.
