Well I'm finishing our day 2 post op! I've walked 4300 steps today and managed to get ALL my fluids in. My pain is minimal mainly just a gas pain here and there. I haven't developed any cravings yet at all. And I don't think I've pushed to the "full point" yet because I've had zero pain while drinking or sipping broth. I just went to Best Buy with my mom to get a new charger for my Fitbit. Came home and strained a lot of the broth from the roast I made for the kids in the crock pot. Omg that was sooo tasty! Pot roast is my absolute favorite food and I'm pleasantly surprised that I didn't crave the meat at all. Still knocking on wood over here but, im feeling great, super excited and still thankful that I'm blessed with a smooth ride so far. Thank you all for the kind comments! I didn't tell anyone at work and only very few friends and less family that I was Having surgery. Felt like it is a private thing they don't all need to know. So it is nice that people I don't really know are so supportive and thoughtful.
I had no idea how I was going to give up my Diet Dr. Pepper. I would drink it literally from daylight to dark. All. Day. Long. I drank it until 2 days before surgery. I'll be 4 years out soon and haven't had one drop. I know I have no control so I just don't go there......
The saddest thing I see is people being advised to just stay off the scale. Watching the scale go down everyday was a lot of fun.

A gallon of water weighs seven pounds. The pump two or more gallons into you to do laparoscopic surgery. It will be gone quickly.

Is that the answer??
i just got home from Revision, from Sleeve to RNY .
Got on the scale and gained13 pounds. Almost fainted! Not a total surprise though, I pretty puffy......
Thank you both for your replies. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I have a few people in my life that have gone through this process successfully so I have a general understanding of the process. However, everyone is different.
I bought Bariatric Advantage vitamins and calcium. Only one bottle. Try them out and see if I can do it. I ordered a variety pack of protein waters on amazon that should be here today. Figured try them before surgery.
i will try and hop on here often and read and interact. Kind of like an online support group. Reading everyone's story helps. Thanks all.
You have such an exciting time ahead of you. I've already had my surgery and am getting close to goal, and I don't want to start over. And yet... I always feel a tiny twinge of jealousy when someone announces they've just had surgery! Part of me wants to relive the excitement of watching the weight come off and realising that finally my body is working with me instead of fighting me every step of the way.
Anyway, I hope you're feeling great today!
If you don't have a kitchen scale yet it might be good to get 1. I found mine online and it measures in grams, ounces, etc. I bought a bunch of stuff prior to surgery which is still sitting here. Either I didn't like the taste or texture. I recommend buying small amounts of stuff until you know what will work for you. Good luck with the surgery!
Thanks for showing this picture. I never saw the size equivalents before now.
I do believe that my decreased appetite has to do with eating very low carb and eating five or six very small meals every day, rather than three large ones. I never allow myself to get hungry and never allow white carbs to increase my hunger.
