Almost 15 years since I got my sleeve
Hi everyone
It's been almost 15years ago since I got my surgery in Tijuana Mx, and I got down to 130 from 240 and I kept the weight off for several years till Covid and family problems and depression got the best of me and I gained most of my weight back really fast I also have a sweet tooth and love to eat at night
I weigh 210 now and I'm pretty sure I stretched my sleeve out
my question is there anyone on here that knows if it's possible to tighten my sleeve back up or have lost weight once gaining it back?
Thank you!
I haven't heard of anything like that if you do, let me know I'm from Oregon and thinking about getting the duo Dental or something RNY I'm just not sure yet. I'm in the same boat as you I had surgery in 2010 sleeve and just the past couple years been in it all back I feel like I've stretched my sleeve that I can eat anything thinking about trying to go back to the beginning on the diet, but haven't done it yet have you do you think it could be done to shrink sleep and lose weight again?
Your restriction is probably still there but you need to change your diet to cut out sugar and processed food. Stick to protein first and then add some veg and small amounts of fruit. Crap food goes through your system quickly and makes your hungry so you eat more. If you go back to a clean diet you will notice that within a few weeks the amount you can eat ,if you do protein first for every meal, reduces. I regained after my surgery a couple of times but now I stick to a low carb, no sugar no flour diet and my restriction is as good as it was on day 1. I can only eat 2-3 ounces of dense protein at a time and I will add a small portion of veggies. I realized late in the game that I was addicted to sugar and then read Food Junkies by Dr. Vera Tarman about food/sugar addiction which wasn't recognized when I had surgery. I have lost all excess weight and maintain easily. So many other benefits as well. There is a lot of info on sugar addiction out there now. I have been SFGF for 3 years now and it was the best thing I have ever done for myself. If this info had been around when I had surgery, I might not have needed it but many bariatric surgery patients now do SFGF.
