HI! I ran across your profile after reading your comments in a discussion forum. I just had the sleeve surgery 6/25/19 at 53 years old and sort of hit a "stall" after week two, which is why I went searching for advice and found this site. I just wanted to say your story is inspiring and I think its wonderful that you still check in on this site 6 years after surgery! I am divorced and my last child is headed off to college next month, and part of the reason I started on this journey (aside from health reasons) is that I felt it was time to start focusing on "me", which hadn't happened in a long time. I hope to travel like you do some day so I hope you still check in from time to time to keep people like me motivated!

One of the great things about this forum is the number of veterans (5, 10, 15, 20) years out who are here EVERY day

Stick around and you'll get to know them!

Losing weight and the first couple of years is easy. Maintaining in the long term is hard work. Vets here are very experienced and knowledgeable because they've lived this life and continue with success, despite life sometimes getting on the way.

Thanks for your reply! I immediately noticed the amount of veterans on the forum and it has helped solidify that this is a lifetime commitment. I for one appreciate the great advice and will continue to offer what I learn thru my journey. I know it's not an easy one!
