What has worked for me almost a year out.

When I started my VSG in Feb 2018 I was 280 lb, now a month away from my year mark I am at 168 lb. The trick that help me to this day is that I never eat to get full. What I mean by that is that I weight every thing I eat with a little $6 scale I bought at Amazon before my surgery. for Lunch and dinner I only put 6.8 ounces in my stomach and for snacks around 1 or 2 ounces. I also weight myself every two days like that if I see myself going up in my weight I could fix it, but I have not had that problem. If you do not like going to the gym it is fine. You could just walk outside like I do. I average between 8,000 to 10,000 steps a day. I also do push ups everyday in my house. When I first started doing push ups, a year ago, I could not even do one, but now I do 40 in the morning, afternoon, and before bed. Please Please do not give up you got this, and if you take anything from this please just eat what fits do not eat to get full. Good luck guys.

Congrats on your success so far! I completely agree with the notion of "undereating your sleeve." The few times I have eaten to fullness post-op always leave me wondering why I did that since I really don't like the feeling!

Congratulations Omar, amazing job! Like Gwen, I like what you said about not eating to get full. Sometimes I forget and pay the price afterwards. Keep up the great work, thank you for the update!

I'm a bit over a year, and I truly appreciated your tip. The holidays (with granddaughters and cooking and baking) sort of threw me out of sorts - only 3 lbs, but NOT feeling physically as well.

I'm ordering the scale! And you look fabulously healthy!

at just about 5 years out, I can attest to the terrible feeling you get with overfill. Yes I still have AMAZING restriction and when I overfill, I still feel completely terrible.

Totally agree. A food scale is a necessity. You've done so well. I like the idea of building strength so I will have to keep working toward that.
