Pain, frothies and heartburn oh my!
Last night first family dinner since surgery. Distracted, I reached for a carrot stick out of habit. I chewed it fairly well, but OUCH it hurt going down. And I experienced what I think you guys call frothies for the first time. Had to nip off to the bathroom to recover myself. Then this morning I woke up coughing and sputtering with acid reflux.
Gotta remember to stay focused/mindful even when eating with others. And raw carrots won't be on the menu for a while.

Yes, foamies...means food got stuck and your body creates mucus/foam to move things along. It stinks. The first time I had it was on a dry turkey burger and I was rushing because I had people coming over... Exactly what you said- distracted.

Yeap. Its amazing how tiny a piece of food can be, and still get stuck. When I got the fomies, you'd have thought I had a whole porkchop stuck in there. When it finally came up, it was a piece of ham no bigger than a pea.

I use the term "toad froth" and it is so awful. I get it if I eat too fast, too much or don't chew enough. Which is way longer than I am used to.
I find anything with a skin (like a cherry, a grape, an apple) is a bit rough. And I roast my carrots and keep them in the refrigerator. :)
