Whatcha Eating Today, VSGers? Sunday, 10/14/18
on 10/14/18 2:39 am
Morning menu crew. I m just now sitting down really. I am in a 1:1, but it has been awful. He is heavily confused, has a chest tube he is trying to pull out and is violent. Doctor has refused restraints, so while having to keep him in bed, stop him from yanking out his chest tube, I have been kneed in the rib*****hed, spit on, kicked, my chest grabbed and squeezed and twisted, fingers bent backward, wrist twisted. My back is killing me. The doctor finally said OK on restraints after the night is nearly over. I m exhausted and stressed. I went in the break room on my 15 and cried. It doesn't help that this isn't my floor. I was floated here. Honestly, I nearly quit and walked out. I went upstairs on my lunch break to enjoy some of our food from our pot luck we had and felt better after a rest
QOTD- Has there been a time of extreme stress that you thought you wouldn't make it through? How did you end up conquering it?
Accountability- I had an extra snack, apple and a Frankenstein finger lollipop
Breakfast- Plain Greek, sola granola, coconut flakes
Lunch- Turkey sandwich, grapes. OR protein bar
Dinner- Chili
Snack- pork rinds, protein shake
Breakfast, Dannon low fat greek yogurt with some protein granola thrown in.
Lunch will probably be a salad with chicken and light calorie dressing
Snacks will probably be cottage cheese and a protein shake
Dinner will either be the protein shake I didn't have for a snack or a protein bar.
On the days I work, I try to get in 40-60 minutes of cardio and a protein bar or shake during my break.
I try to stay under 1100 calories with a minimum if 75 grams of protein, but usually 80-90.
OMG Mer****hat's terrible. I'm sorry you had such a tough night!

Today we are doing an Alzheimer's Walk in Provincetown. It should be cool, but not too freezing which is good.
QOTD: Boy, over the years I've had a lot of stress with family stuff and work. I often coped by eating in the past (and sometimes currently but not as much and not as a first choice). Another past and current thing I do to take a break from the stress is read an engrossing novel so it takes me out of the current world in my head at least.

OH Mersh, I am sorry you had such a rough night, and kudos about an apple and finger lollipop. Sometimes we have to nourish the soul!
QOTD- Has there been a time of extreme stress that you thought you wouldn't make it through? How did you end up conquering it? Oddly no. I've had 5 different types of cancers with accompanying treatments (slash/poison/burn); I've had 7 heart stents and a triple bypass, and 3 strokes. Been divorced twice before being happily married the last 17 years. But no. I have always had a great faith life, whi*****ludes a community of wonderful women friends who "get" it. And my DH is also my BFF. My relationships with all my adult children (6) are positive, and they accept my many faults and foibles with, at this point, a sigh and some amusement. I think a foundation of belief, whatever you hold to, helps you to know life is not personal -- its chemistry, biology, genetics and happenstance. Someone's free choice collides with your life...
Breakfast: Premier protein & lots of coffee
B2: 2 pieces of very crispy bacon & 1 slice Mountain grain bread
L: Homemade pinto beans with fat free cheese
S: Chobani Greek yogurt
D: TBD
S: Peanut butter or almonds
Have had weird blood sugar spikes, but am also on mega antibiotic which is upsetting my stomach and I'm reluctant to eat....
You guys make my day!
