Hi everyone,

I'm sure this has been covered a million times before. But I'm being lazy. I am a week and couple days post old and my weight has plateaued. Is this normal?

I don't really think you can accurately know what's going on yet. You still have inflammation inside and at your external incisions, and your body may be retaining or offloading fluid as a result. I'm not really going to start looking too much at the scale until about 6 weeks post-op, once things have really had a chance to heal. Just do what your dr says diet-wise and hang in there.

You are NOT going to lose weight every day. Get used to it!

The first week post-op is very exciting and people often drop a lot of weight very quickly. This is NOT sustainable and not worth worrying about.

You will most likely expect to lose a pound or two per week, slow and steady to goal, with plenty of stalls and slowdowns along the way.
