Hi Everyone,

I am currently 5 days post op. Every waking minute I I regret this sleeve ð??" I am miserable. I keep reading about how it's supposed to get better day by day. Today was the first day back on full liquids, and vitamins. Any time I go to stand up I am light headed, even when I stand up slowly. I am on track with my fluids, but I was wondering if anyone experienced light headedness upon standing during their recovery. Also, my blood pressure and pulse is normal, I'm just soooo fatigued as well.

I think that is just a general surgery side effect- not necessarily sleeve related. After my thyroidectomy I was lightheaded for a few weeks. It did eventually resolve.

Recovery from majorly surgery takes weeks with incremental improvements along the way. Its different for everyone, so ignore all those who were 'fine' in 3 days. That does not equal healed/recovered.

Thanks for answering,

I am thinking it's a side effect of all the drugs that were pumped in to me as well. I'm not really a medication person. They also have me on daily Lovenox injections for blood clots, that could be a factor as well.

Honestly surgery is rough, some people recoup quicker than others. Im 11 days out and while not in any more pain, I still tire very easily. It will get better, get some protein in you that should help with the light headedness. And remember why you chose this surgery. I had a hard time too at first but it does get easier. If you need someone to talk to that's going through all the same things msg me!

You need to make sure you have enough water. You could be dehydrated. Make sure your urine is not dark.

Hi, I've been "sippin 'n' walkin" like it's my job.. because it is!! The only time my urine is a little yellow is when I wake up in the morning.. I'm guessing that's because I don't drink for a couple of hours..

Also, the buyers remorse is going to last maybe two weeks and then you will remember why you did this (said the nurse of my program).

Hi there, welcome to the forum. I'm sorry you're feeling so rough. I suffered from terrible regret over the surgery for weeks. Honestly it was almost 12 weeks out before I started feeling really good. Now at 11 months out I feel the best I have in almost a decade! Everyone's journey is different, but most people have doubts at some point. Hang in there, it gets so much better! I'm glad you are hydrating and walking, that will help. Keep the self-care up and this phase will pass soon!

Jess
