Thank you so much! I think this is exactly what I'm going to do. I love my husband and boy do we both have our faults but all of you are right in saying just focus on myself. I don't know what is going on in his head right now and I probably never will but I just have to get through it. I'm a strong woman who has made it through worse so just keep my eye on the end goal. Love all of you for the support!

Ultimately, the only person you can control/change is yourself. I hope that you have other support - do you have a support group you can attend? Are you seeing a therapist?

I have a very loving relationship with my husband, but I've learned that our relationship is happier when I don't try to limit or change his food choices and when I don't talk about weight or VSG with him. That does not make him unsupportive - he just has the right to eat whatever he wants and not have to listen to me talk about my weight everyday.

do you listen to him talk about things that are important to him, every day? Why wouldn't you expect him to give you the courtesy?

I agree with the others who have said you cannot control anyone but yourself. It sounds like you will have to ignore the temptations. I am ten years out and have never expected anyone to change his/her eating because I had weight loss surgery.
