It is a beautiful Thursday morning here. We have had a great visit with our friends and they are leaving this morning. The guys went bowling and out for ice cream yesterday afternoon, then we went to our favorite seafood restaurant last night where I had super fresh sushi (with 2 days of leftovers remaining from that meal and the prior day - yeah!). They have offered to plan a guys weekend soon too where I would drive DH halfway and his friend would pick him up. That will be a nice break for both of us.

QOTD: What does your favorite shirt look like? Mine would have to be a Lilly Pulitzer popover top (quarter zip). It is different shades of pinks and white with white lace down the arms. I could never have worn something like that pre-WLS (of course they didn't have my size anyway).

2 Years, 4.5 months post-op (maintaining at goal for 20.5 months)

Always lots of coffee...

B: eggs, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon

L: tuna salad, pickles and cottage cheese

D: Leftover sushi (the other leftover will keep better for another day)

S: deli chicken and cottage cheese

Morning, Liz! Sounds like you?re winding down summer in a lovely way. Hope you do get that break for both of you?what a great idea.

I am up earlier than typical for Summer: back to school and back to work after our mini staycation. I have been waking up about 40 minutes pre alarm and have not been able to get back to sleep. I think my magnesium levels have increased between vites and protein shakes, because I have been having incredibly vivid dreams (pre-surgery, sleep apnea was making dream recall tough as it was ruining my sleep/wake cycles?magnesium helps). I know it?s boring to hear about people dreams, but this damn dream seemed like it was written by Steven King and was deeply disturbing. At least Mulder and Scully made a small cameo, so that was nice at least--even though it was a gruesome crime scene.

ANYway, as of this mornings weighing, I?m a half lb from halfway to my surgeons goal. That?s exciting and I hope signals the break of a plateau I?ve had for the last week or two of slow or no weight loss.

Just over 12 weeks out (wow!!)

B - isopure + fairlife + coffee - I still love my shakes but am sad to report that they are becoming ?sliders? for me. They used to keep me full for hours?not anymore! Since I still need at least one shake to hit my protein, I will need to be diligent in this area.

L - ?? I?ve taken care of everyone?s lunch this week but mine. I?ll tote along some skyrr and cottage cheese in case I can?t find any good choices out in the world. I also have some fresh cucumbers that I sliced last night that could pair well with the cottage cheese.

S - Maybe string cheese or some jerky if I need some salt. Alternately, some non-fat refried beans

D - Depends on how my protein/carbs/calories have cumed up for the day

Halfway in 12 weeks! Excellent job! I stopped having protein shakes as soon as I could get enough protein other ways, probably around your point. I went to Aruba around then and couldn't bring them, so didn't bother with them afterwards.

That's encouraging! When I say I "love them", it's more like I love that they help me hit my protein goal. I'm looking forward to not needing them, except for in certain cir****tances (on the go, no groceries in the house, road trip). I've never been a calorie drinker...I like eating too much (obviously lol). that's why I could never get into those crazy Starbucks drinks. Why would I drink all that sugar and all those calories when I could have a giant brownie instead. I guess now I have to opt out either way.

Forgot....

QOTD: I don?t have one in particular. However, I do love button downs, though it?s hard to find a great fit when your twin gifts? are a bit large. I also love a nice-looking, fitted 3/4 sleeve t-shirt with a boatneck collar. This seems to be a cut that looks good on me. For casual, I do have some favorite graphic Ts and character shirts. in addition, Gap makes these ?Luxe? t-shirts that drape very nicely (feminine shape, but not clingy) and feel very soft?easy to dress up or down with.

Still out in the forest of central mass, chilly morning and it feels good.

Qotd: struggling to think of a favorite shirt... i guess it's an off white lace tank. I wear it often to work, paired with various shrugs or sweaters.

B. Egg, sausage, English

L. Cheese and crackers

D. Steak tips, peppers, garden cukes

E. Walking

Hey all! It is a cold, rainy day today. Perfect for napping. It's int he 60's, which is incredible for the end of August. However, by the weekend we're back into the high 90's. I would prefer the warmer weather, this is a bit too chilly for me. I have a jacket on :D

QOTD: My favorite shirt is pretty simple. It's a black shirt with a logo on it from a game I play. There's nothing special about the print, however it is my favorite because I can actually wear it. I never got to wear things with prints from things I enjoy, movies/games/etc because no one carried them in 5x lol.

Hi All... Been a VERY long day, I almost broke down when I had to go in and set up my appointment with the Hematologist I guess I never expected her to be seeing me in the Cancer Specialists and Research Institute, even after I lifted the hope for an older lady about losing her hair - just for some reason when I was directed over to my section which is the institute it hit me like a ton of bricks. I am not sorry I had my VSG but it sure has opened a lot of not so great doors for me... at least we are taking care of them but not an easy road.

QOTD: What does your favorite shirt look like? My (ex) husbands Levi shirt LOL I've had it about oh...20+ years! I found it in my smaller clothes box the other day and it was just so wonderful, what great memories I have with that shirt, painting my first home, nursing babies, gardening and the list goes on! I have mended a pocket on it many times over the years, it is almost white now and so very soft.... Yep my absolute favorite shirt!
