Coughing after surgery

I am but I'm trying to space them out a little longer. I just need to bear down and do it. ?

I just thought of something else: a nice long hot shower* can help loosen the phlegm to make it easier to cough up.

*Normally I try to be conservation-minded and take short showers. But I figure after surgery one is entitled to do whatever helps.

I agree with Shannon, don't be afraid to take your pain medication. That what it's there for! Fluids and walking should also help with the phlegm. The first few days rough, but the pain will get better.
