hi all

i am just over 4 weeks post op and want to share some good intel. TAKE STOOL SOFTNERS PRIOR TO ANY LAXATIVES. Take it from me .....not a pleasant experience without. I am a RN and definitely know better but ignored the obvious. It had been almost 2 weeks without a normal BM and just thought it was because u hadn't really eaten ...well I was wrong

I believe that is in the instruction from most surgeons, they include what brand of stool softeners and how often you should take them, typically twice a day and then to use MiraLAX every other day if you need it. I'm surprised if your team did not include that information for you. Sorry you had a bad issue.
