Feeling hungry, right out of the gate
I'm having the same problem, 4 weeks post-op. I just saw my surgeon yesterday, and told him about the strong physical sensation of hunger. I had thought he would either increase my Pantoprazole, or switch me to a different med, but he didn't want to make any changes at this time. He said that I'm on the standard dose, and that the hunger sensation should eventually settle down. I hope he's right.
While the "hunger" pangs are annoying, I find them much easier to ignore than I would have before surgery. They don't have the same psychological impact of "I have to eat something NOW!"
Same! I feel kinda detached from these hunger feelings. It's like something going on in my tummy that feels separate from the rest of me. And they feel separate from my head hunger feelings, too. Glad to hear your surgeon said they would settle down, I hope he's right too.
