Gained already...is this normal...?

I had my VSG the same day as you! I have been losing about 1+ lbs. daily except for this morning, and yep, I gained a bit too I think mine is caused by constipation now that I'm eating pureed foods. My Dr. does not allow anything but walking until 6-weeks but all Dr.'s seem different. I do know for a fact that when you exercise and push or do something to a new area you will OFTEN gain weight, what happens is your body sends fluid to surround that wounded area to protect it while it fixes itself. So, I'm going to guess here and say your gain is from that and will be gone again shortly. Congratulations on your progress it sounds like you are doing great!

I have learned that I need to hide the scale and now only weigh in once a week. There are many reasons why you could gain day to day so if you are doing everything right just keep doing what your doing and only weigh in once a week.

Height = 5'2 Age = 37 Surgery Date = August 13, 2012 HW = 231lbs LW = 131lbs

Regain SW = 209.6 CW = 191.2 Goal Weight = 157.6 lbs

The only way you will see results is if you stay consistent!

I agree - not fat overnigh****er, most likely. I wouldn't weigh every day; the inches are great indicators, as is how you are feeling. That said, I weigh every day, and I go up and down .5 - 2 lbs, depending on salt, hydration, and sleep. My calories are pretty static.

So I've continued to weigh daily just for this week then reset Sunday going once a week. I'll also be measuring my body with the measuring tape so maybe I'll see something give a bit in the inches department. This entire week has been the same 272.2 every morning all week I've also noticed I've been stressed, picked up longer hours, had some unwanted drama at the start of the week, and have maybe averaging four hours of sleep (much like I'll get tonight). I know all of these can contribute to weight gain/weight stall so fresh start Sunday. I can sleep in for once, have my appointment with my surgeon and hoping he'll give clearance for me to swim and to return to my prn job at the hospital. I just need to continue on.

This, too, shall pass!
