I had a rough weekend. On Friday I had some stomach thing that left me in the bathroom for quite a while and I didn't compensate with more fluids. I got to experience pretty bad dehydration on Saturday and ended up asking for extensions on two papers as a result - something I've never had to do before. I still managed to finish one by the original deadline and I'll spend today finishing up the other. Sadly it's borrowed time, not actual extra time, so work will just pile up if I don't get it done. I'm still feeling unusually tired as a result of everything, though. Hopefully I'll get my mojo back today!

QOTD: Over the weekend, the topic of the lone star tick came up in my household. This is the tick that can make you allergic to non-primate mammal meat and inspires today's QOTD. If you could only eat one type of animal meat for the rest of your life, what animal would you choose? (I.e., salmon, chicken, shrimp, cow, lamb, etc.)

1: protein shake
2: leftover bonchon
3: sous vide pork tenderloin

liquid and vites: on track
exercise: yoga

How about you?

QOTD: Definitely cow. I love skirt steak and short ribs and ground beef. I'd miss bacon and pancetta, but I could more easily live without pig than without cow!

Heading to the waterpark today! Supposed to be a beautiful day, not a cloud in the sky! The kids are so excited!

QOTD - Hmmm I love fish so def in that category but its so hard to pick just one. Seafood is my fav so I wouldn't want to have to give any of that up.

B - coffee and Chocolate Premier protein

L - something at the waterpark or boardwalk

D - Air fried green beans with garlic sauce and leftover italian meatloaf

E - 30 min jog/walk, dumbbell lunges, donkey kicks, bodyweight squats

Lots of water!

Have a great day everyone!

Happy Monday. Good question, Gwen!

QOTD: Beef for sure - there's so much you can do with it - and there's nothing like a steak on the grill!

B: 1/2 dry bagel in the car - bad choice

L: something from the caf - maybe a salad with turkey

D: no frig, IDK, also dental work scheduled at 4:30 so not sure how my mouth will be - maybe canned soup, how lame!

E: hot again today, IDK

L/V: on track

Good morning. I have my first session of personal training through the hospital gym during my lunch hour today. Then a full day and evening of groups. Definitely a busy day to kick off the work week!

QOTD: Seafood is my favorite, but I think I'd get mercury poisoning if that's all I ate and choosing between shrimp, crab, lobster, and fish is too hard! I'll go with beef because it's so versatile and I love things like steak and beef sausage.

B - coffee & protein

L - shrimp ceviche

D - steak & mushrooms

E - we'll see what the trainer puts me through!

Good luck with the personal training today! In my experience, the day after when DOMS sets in is the day that will kick your butt :D

I had the same issue when thinking about fish (well, not mercury, since I eat it so infrequently now I don't think about that very much!). I love tilapia for its versatility, but I would miss salmon which is my favorite flavor-wise.

I work out in the very early morning and DOMS usually hits me around 10 o'clock. Today was a pretty intense leg day, so I'm not looking forward to that!
