Salads are easy for me to eat. Almost all vegetables go down easy for me. When you are cleared for them just be careful. Early in it's hard to eat salad and protein but now I do it just fine.

I can eat any green's just fine and without pain. But, it was about 6 months before I even attempted because I didn't have room. I now eat salad 1-2 times per week and I normally portion a weighed ounce of it and that's it.

I have to do finely chopped lettuce as well, but have found lightly sauteed things like radiacchio, or kale work well with a protein. I load my salad with protein, sort of pick it all out first. Then the "better" vegetables, then the lettucey part.

I think its a social thing to eat it.

I have no trouble with greens, which is awesome since I DID have issues with them pre-op. However, I'm more likely to order a salad without the greens because I haven't got the space for them in my stomach. If I have a taco, I do it with just the meat, cheese, and salsa. (And avocado.)

Thank you Gwen, like I said I had mentioned that in MONTHS being about to have a Taco with my sibling and she said what about that little bit of lettuce and then others said they cannot handle lettuce at all so wow, I will ask on here to see if that will be a long term issue or not, of course I will have protein first ALWAYS but I do like Taco's even w/o the shells and even w/o the lettuce is fine too.

I saw your comment about "months." :) I'm 4+ years out and still don't bother much with greens.

I have no trouble with iceberg, but some other leafy lettuces just don't seem to digest and sit in my stomach for a long time. sometimes raw vegetables will do the same and other times they are fine.
