Burning in Stomach while drinking coffee???

I don't think I did coffee till about 6 months out -- and I mix mine 1/2 with Premier Protein, not straight up like I used to drink. Mostly because I hate the taste of the protein shakes. But the 1/2 decaf 1/2 caf mix with it is not so bad.
I would discontinue until you see your doctor if it hurts.

Do you know if you have an ulcer? If you do, it is recommended that you restrict not only caffeinated but also decaffeinated coffee intake as it may lead to injury of the intestinal tissue.
If you haven't had a recent EGD then you may want to inquire about getting one to see what is going on with your GI tract.
Are you take a PPI? If not, you should, but just make sure you take it correctly.
- If you take a PPI once a day, take it 30 to 60 minutes before breakfast.
- If you take it twice a day, take the first dose per step #1 above, then take the second dose 30 to 60 minutes before dinner.
- Taking the PPI before you eat stops extra acid from being made. The PPI also works better.
- If you take an antacid or H2-blocker, take it/them at a different time of day then the PPI.
- PPIs may reduce the amount of calcium you absorb. Calcium citrate is the best supplement for people taking PPIs.
