Whatcha Eating Today VSGers? Friday, 7/6/2018
Good morning Gwen and menu friends! Our summer has finally arrived! Beautiful sun, in the high 80's and no clouds in sight. The energy has definitely shifted!
Going to take Emmy for a hike in a few minutes while it's still cool outside, later I will take my mother to run her errands. No casino Friday today(thank goodness:-)!
QOTD-I do not care for floral scents either, but like Gwen, lavender has grown on me. My favorite candle scent is anything smelling of pears.
B-Bullet coffee
L-egg salad w/mayo and pickles, string cheese
S-Chai tea with vanilla pp shake
D-Foil bake with hamburger, sweet onion and red potatoes(I will skip this)
E-Hike with my dog
Have a safe Friday!

QOTD: Unscented! I hate scented candles and most perfumes. They give me a headache. I like the smells of lots of real things though. Like orange blossoms, roses, fresh cookies, and playdoh (not a real thing I know, but it's a good childhood memory smell)...
Hot hot hot here today. At a weather station about 6 miles from my house it was already 101 before 8am and 108 before 10am. Ugh.
B: protein shake, peanut butter on bagel thin
L: 1/2 salad from Panera with extra chicken
D: real good pizza
S: movie popcorn

Happy Friday Sleevers ~
QOTD: If you could have a never-ending candle that smelled like anything you wanted, what fragrance would you want it to be? I don't do candles at all...I just don't like open flames, no matter how small, in the house. I do love my essential oil infuser though! My favorite scent is citrus mixed with just a teeny drop of patchouli.
Emotional ups and downs early in this journey are no joke. I had a crying jag this morning thinking about my Faith (lost her April 25). She was my heart dog, and I feel so horrible that she had cancer and we didn't even know it. Had we known, we could have at least made her more comfortable. We had taken her to the vet 3 times because her bark changed dramatically...from a full, throaty bark to a high yappy one. She was also acting "off". The first time, they thought kennel cough (though she was never around any other dogs!), second time they thought pharyngitis, and the last time after an x-ray, they hoped it was pneumonia and did a needle biopsy. I was hoping she was just grieving for Max who had died 9 days earlier. Two days later she laid down and died. We weren't even at home, just Sophie (our other girl) was. The day after she died the biopsy results came back. It was an aggressive lung cancer and we didn't even know. She was a month shy of 5 years old.
Anyway, I was talking to a friend about her and it just hit me like a tidal wave and I couldn't stop crying. I had made myself a decaf with Premier for creamer and I took one sip and it came right back up. I guess I won't drink coffee when I'm in the middle of a crying jag.
I've been putting kale and spinach in my protein smoothie...oh go****'s just what I was craving! I've really been missing vegetables, but by the time I finish my protein there just isn't any room, so I decided to throw some in my smoothie. I use the Syntrax Matrix Strawberry Cream protein, along with some collagen, almond milk and ice. It's bright green but it tastes SO good and I get that hit of healthy greens that I've been missing so much. I'm going to try it with the Fuzzy Navel protein tomorrow.
I remember your posting about sweet Faith. It is okay to still mourn her loss and I think crying can be healthy instead of holding it in.

Awww I'm so sorry she was adorable! I was a very emotional mess yesterday too so you weren't alone I just cried for no reason. I think its good to have a good cry every now and then and just let it all out.
I have been given the OK to go Full-Liquid and IF it goes OK I can go to pureed next Friday.... S L O W L Y!
QOTD: Gosh, I'm not sure but I love Yankee Candles so it will be something from them.
Water, water, water! OK not enough water yet, but I am trying and using chipped ice is helping.
